Today, his successful album “Cumbiana” released under Sony Music Latin, receives 5 nominations and celebrates his 6th nomination for his collaboration with Kany García for “Búscame,” for the 21st Latin GRAMMY Awards®, which will take place on Thursday, November 19 at 8PM EST and will be broadcast live on Univision.

The colombian star, who has received a total of 12 Latin GRAMMY® awards, is nominated in the categories for “Album of the Year” and “Best Contemporary/Tropical Fusion Album” for Cumbiana, “Song of the Year” for “For Sale” alongside Alejandro Sanz and “Canción para Rubén” alongside Rubén Blades, “Best Long Form Music Video” for “El Mundo Perdido de Cumbiana” and “Best Tropical Song” for his collaboration with Kany Garcia on “Búscame.”

Carlos discovers the amphibian origin of the most popular musical patterns in Colombia, such as vallenatos, cumbias and porros, those that left the world since immemorial time and returned in a more modern style, showing the power of diversity, but declaring like never before its American origin. In this album, Carlos brings us ten modern songs built on their bases with amphibian patterns and in which the talent of great artists such as Alejandro Sanz, Rubén Blades, Jessie Reyez, Ziggy Marley and Elkin Robinson join the project. CARLOS VIVES PRESENTS ON THE GRAMMY MUSEUM’S DIGITAL MUSEUM EL MUNDO PERDIDO DE CUMBIANA, THE DOCUMENTARY WHICH REVEALS THE MUSICAL HISTORY BEHIND HIS NEW ALBUM CUMBIANA

CARLOS VIVES PRESENTS ON THE GRAMMY MUSEUM’S DIGITAL MUSEUM EL MUNDO PERDIDO DE CUMBIANA, THE DOCUMENTARY WHICH REVEALS THE MUSICAL HISTORY BEHIND HIS NEW ALBUM CUMBIANA

In This Documentary, Vives Invites Us To Learn About The History Of The Amphibian Universe To Understand Why Cumbia Is The Most Authentic Expression Of The Colombian Culture That Has Expanded Internationally

MIAMI (August 21, 2020) – Carlos Vives premieres on the GRAMMY Museum’s digital museum his documentary, El Mundo Perdido de Cumbiana(The Lost World of Cumbiana), which reveals the musical history behind his 14th album today at 1 P.M. PT via grammymuseum.org/cumbianaCarlos Vives will also attend an exclusive conversation with Felix Contreras from NPR’s Alt.Latino to discuss the documentary immediately following the screening. Cumbiana was directed by Carlos Felipe Montoya and produced by Isabel Cristina Vasquez from Mestiza Films.

During the last few years, Vives has been investigating the origin of Cumbia and has done extensive research to find the roots of the genre and has involved a unique mix of instruments, sounds and melodies to create the music for his new album Cumbiana.

An album of 10 songs inspired by daily life and the ancestral spirits of a region on the north coast of Colombia, the place of origin of Cumbia and where amphibian culture predominates. This album is a work with the power to send a message to the general public, and this documentary presents its creation showing the process through each song.

Carlos Vives‘ musical exploration takes him back to the origin to understand that Vallenato himself is a son of Cumbia and create once again a biocultural landmark that can transform vision of Colombia against its own history. Cumbiana will put the world to think about the amphibian territory and the vast region that is waiting to be reinterpreted to find an authentic treasure of Colombian culture.

Through the documentary we see the majesty of the Magdalena River ecosystem and its swamps, but also the environmental challenges it faces and that cannot be overcome for good until its biocultural importance is understood; something to which the album and this documentary can contribute enormously.

At the same time, we will get to know first-hand the process of creating the image and the concept of the album, as well as each of the songs that make up the new work by Carlos Vives through an immersion in the Gaira Música Local studio, which also includes the voices and collaborations of artists such as Jessie Reyez, Alejandro Sanz, Ziggy Marley, Elkin Robinson and Rubén Blades.

MALUMA RELEASES HIS NEW SINGLE & VIDEO “HAWÁI”

MALUMA
RELEASES HIS NEW SINGLE & VIDEO

“HAWÁI”

MIAMI, Florida (July 29, 2020). Global Latin music idol MALUMA has just released his hot new single “HAWÁI” along with its music video.

The melodious banger written by Maluma, Keityn, Edgar Barrera and Bull Nene, was produced by Rude Boyz. It tells the classic tale of a relationship breakup set in the modern Instagram age, where the story one tells and the pictures one posts can be deceiving.

The music video for “HAWÁI” is a drama-filled mini-movie, shot in Miami by renown director Jessy Terrero of Cinema Giants, with a storyline written by Maluma himself that takes him through a rollercoaster of situations and emotions in the dramatic aftermath of the end of a relationship. Of course, as in any work of fiction, any similarity to actual persons, places or events, is purely coincidental.

Stream or download “HAWÁI” by clicking HERE and watch the video HERE.

“HAWÁI” is part of Maluma’s upcoming album Papi Juancho dropping later this year.

ABOUT VEVO DSCVR Emilia – “No Más”. An exclusive live performance for Vevo DSCVR, the channel for the best in new music. Our DSCVR program is all about leading music lovers to the next wave of upcoming artists. True to our promise, we’d like you to spend time with the music of Emilia Mernes. The good people of Argentina already know all about their fellow countrywoman’s compelling persona: The Sol de Mayo native gets major love on the Gram, and holds it down as an ambassador for key lifestyle brands. Somehow the 22-year-old fashionista also finds time to make sweet urbano jams, too. When “Recalienta” and “No Soy Yo,” a dembow duet with Darrell, hit in 2019, they immediately racked up mega numbers. And what’s not love? Emilia is a fetching star with crazy pop potential a la Becky G and Tini. In the DSCVR studio, the singer brought the heat and, surprise, debuted a new track, “No Más,” exclusively for Vevo. That performance, and its mate “Policia,” are real convincers. Make room on your playlist for a thrilling newcomer.

BY POPULAR DEMAND MALUMA RELEASES “ADMV” URBAN VERSION & ITS NEW VIDEO

MIAMI, Florida (May 15, 2020). The beloved ballad of the moment “ADMV” now has a new version, “ADMV” Urban Version, which Global Latin music idol MALUMA releases today along with its brand new music video, shot in Greece, right before having to postpone his 11:11 World Tour because of the global pandemic COVID-19.

The initial plan for the “ADMV” video was to record it entirely in Greece with director Nuno Gomez but having to  quickly leave Europe due to the pandemic, they had only captured a portion of the video, the performance of the song, Upon arrival in Miami, Gomez recorded an entirely different video for the original version of the ballad. A month later, and in response to multiple requests from fans who were left wanting to see the idol singing the song in Athens, Greece, the artist decided to release the footage in the video for the urban version of “ADMV”, also directed by Nuno Gomez.

To listen to “ADMV” Urban Version click HERE and to watch the new music video press HERE.

The name the song stands for “Amor De Mi Vida” which means “Love Of My Life” and it was born in the heart of the artist.

This song is very special for me, this is something that comes from the heart, it has made me realize the reason I started my career and it makes me think about what will happen in the future – if we are going to take the time to love one another, hug one another – Today I release it so that we can dedicate it to all the people we love before they are gone, expressed Maluma.

It was written on a January songwriting trip to Jamaica by Maluma, Edgar Barrera, Vicente Barco and Miky La Sensa; and was produced by Barrera and Maluma

The lyrics say (in Spanish): ”When our memory fails and only the photographs remain, may I forget everything except that you are mine, when the years weigh on us and our legs can no longer walk, our eyes close and our skin doesn’t stretch anymore, when the only thing that matters is what we did in life, and even if none of this happens, you are the love of my life.

Maluma recently became the first and only male Latin artist to reach 50 million followers on Instagram.
