“CARNAVAL” SHOT UP TO #1 ON iTUNES LATINO AND THREE OF MALUMA’S ALBUMS REACHED TOP TEN ON THE iTUNES LATINO CHART 
MIAMI, Florida (April 19, 2020). Global Latin music idol MALUMA performed last night (April 18, 2020) on the historical global television special “One World: Together At Home” among legendary artists such as Elton John, Andrea Bocelli, Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, the Rolling Stones, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift, among others, to unite the world to help support and celebrate the healthcare frontline workers of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Maluma is the only artist who sang in Spanish during the prime-time special.
 From his home, and with the ideal backdrop of the mountains of his native Medellín in the distance, Maluma sang a moving acoustic version of 2016 hit “Carnaval”, accompanied only by a guitar (recorded separately by musician Santiago Torres).

The lyrics, its melody, and the singer-songwriter’s delivery were perfect for the occasion – touching, inspirational and up-lifting.Billboard described the performance as “stunning” and “a beautiful rendition”.

The Colombian superstar immediately started trending worldwide on Twitter while sales and streams of “Carnaval” soared, as well as the rest of his music. The track reached #1 on the iTunes Latino songs chart and his albums, 11:11, Pretty Boy Dirty Boy and F.A.M.E. are in the top 10 of the iTunes Latino albums chart.

Maluma, alongside his foundation El Arte de los Sueños, has also been committed to helping families in need in Antioquia, Colombia.

Led by its president Manuela Londoño Arias and its founder (Maluma), concerned about the hardships the families of the 170 youth served by the foundation have been going through, are aiding each of the families. El Arte de los Sueños has bought and delivered groceries to help them through the period of sheltering at home. Groceries for additional families in need have also been provided in Alto de la Virgen in Guarne and the municipality of Venecia in Antioquia.

They have also made significant donations to the health system, having donated Respirator-Mouthguards with N-95 valves, single-use hospital uniforms and more than 10 thousand units of gloves to entities such as the Hospital San Rafael in Venecia; the Ces Prado Centro Clinic and the San Vicente Hospital Foundation in Rio Negro. Four years ago, El Arte de los Sueños, embarked on a clear path that has always sought the betterment of people’s lives through altruism, generosity and humanitarian efforts. Today more than ever, it offers comfort in the midst of these very difficult times.

Maluma also donated 250 million pesos (about 64,000 dollars) to Donatón, an initiative organized by the Mayor of Medellin, the capital of the department of Antioquia, to aid the region’s communities most in need.

Maluma recently became the first and only male Latin artist to reach 50 million followers on Instagram.
